From the GoogleTv website YouTube on TV: Home > YouTube or in All AppsThe YouTube app gives you access to all the videos on YouTube and plays them in full-screen high definition - just like watching TV. However if you go to youtube.com/movies and pick any movie it plays fine within Chrome but if you choose to open in the Youtube app itself (which would be my preference) you get an error that the app won't work with those videos. Yet they can be played in Chrome just fine. Anyone know if Google plans to 'fix' this or update the app to handle those ? (fyi, this happens on Sony and Revue, I assume they share the app since both are GoogleTV) Thanks LT
There is a separate app in Market for watching those videos, aptly called Videos. I'm going to try to sideload it when I get home tonight. Sent from my LG-P930 using Tapatalk
For me, the youtube app in GoogleTV is not working at all. The error message says something about network access. At the same time I have not problem accessing youtube through Chrome. What is wrong with the youtube app?
Try going into GTV Settings > Manage Applications > Applications > YouTube > Force Stop then go into GTV Settings > Accounts & sync > Remove account the add it back then try the app again. If you get the error message again, then report the exact syntax.
Gotta love 'magic' Someone care to explain what 'sideload' means in Krisguy's post above. Some method of loading apps I assume, possibly 3rd party or something? Anyway I'd like to try what he described I just need to get pointed on where to begin exactly. I have a Sony TV and Logitech Revue myself so if they differ in their GTV implementation (they don't appear to) just let me know if the method of doing this is for a particular device. Thanks!
