Hello, first time poster. Recently, YouTube videos no longer play in HD on our GTV. I can't find any quality-related settings other than "auto-adjust quality" or something like that. The video is SD whether I check that box or not. Is there a setting I can change somewhere? Thanks for any thoughts!

Hi. Have you tried running a speedtest with your GTV? I would try rebooting your router and your GTV device. Also keep the "auto-adjust quality" box unchecked. Some google TV users have problems with the way that their GTV devices interact with their router - thus causing performance issues. In the following thread I listed some troubleshooting measures:

Something else that you can try is going to your settings and "force stop" & "clear data" from the YouTube app.

Can You play HD videos from the YouTube web site with Chrome browser?

Ive also got the same problem as you socrates_johnson,
CatfishRivers, I have tried unchecking auto-adjust quality and also tried the force stop and clear data for the YouTube app too.
Both of which make no difference :(
If I play the video from Chrome on the GTV then it works perfectly fine and the picture quality is brilliant.

Btw im using a Sony NSZ-GS7 which is hooked directly to the router.
When in Chrome also the 720p video downloads very quick too.

Also to add to this - SpeedTest indicates that im getting 9mb down and 800k up.

In addition to this I have also tried un-installing updates for YouTube and trying it, same results. Also tried then installing the update for YouTube and no difference. :( Sadly

Have you tried rebooting your router?

As a troubleshooting measure - can you connect directly to modem (remove your router) and see if you still have the same issue?

Have tried rebooting the router but no luck.
Can't remove the router as its an ADSL Modem Router.

    Cheers
