Is there any version of XBMC which works on Co-star?
I use the Revue, not the Co-Star, but if your box has at least the 4.2.2 Jellybean update, XBMC should work. According to post #20 here Vizio Co-Star , NDK was included in that update.
No XBMC version runs on the Vizio Co-Star as far as I know. The Co-Star runs a modified version of Android 3.2x.
Thanks guys. It doesn't look like Jellbean update was or will be provided for Co-Star. It's unfortunate as the device hardware is capable of running XBMC.
If you are up to it, there is a solution. How To Root the Co-Star - Exploitee.rs
Rooted or not, I don't think the Co-star can run XBMC. If the wizards that modify XBMC to run on various platforms had developed a version for Google TV, it may have been possible, I don't know. I did install a couple of versions of XBMC on my rooted Hisense Pulse and nothing worked, it wouldn't load.
Well, it is known know that Chromebox runs XBMC exceedingly well, based on its Amazon reviews. A number of these Google TV platforms have become marginalized in that their limitations are becoming glaringly obvious for many users.
For those that believe XBMC is a must-have, it might be worth shelling out $150.00 for a Chromebox.
