The best thing about Google TV is the complete integration with TV and "HDMI in" is the only way to make that happen. Why does the Chinese Android TV makers, Amazon FireTV, and now the Nexus Player not have this option? I want both the integrated TV experience WITH the horsepower. I don't want to have to chose only one of those.

We don't know whether an unofficial Android TV box running what is essentially a tablet version of Android will actually be able to do anything with HDMI in. Can that company modify the operating system to make it work well? My guess is no, a third party developer will have to come up with an app that uses it. I also like HDMI in and the ability to merge a traditional TV source with internet TV, so far Google TV does that and nothing else I have seen.
