How do I watch DVD off my player? I believe I connected it correctly, can anyone help?
Playing a disc
Yes, I should have been more clear. I want to play a dic and not sure how to make sure it comes on. Hope that helps. Happy Holidays to all!
o.0 What?! Are you sure this is the correct forum for this sort of thing? Did you try the link above in my original response?
So, sorry, it was early here lol. I'm not too familiar w/the forums so if this needs to be moved a moderator can do that. I do need to know how I can make it possible to watch a DVD (connect the player) to the GTV though, if anyone knows I'd appreciate the help.
Have you checked the "Playing a disc" link in my first response it goes to Sony's eSupport page (http://helpguide.sony.net/internettv/nsz-gt1/v1/us1/04/04-01.html) regarding, "Playing a disc".
Okay. Thanks for the link. Even though I have had it for a few months I still don't know all its ins and outs. I usually only watch TV and YouTube videos off of it. I wasn't aware of this aspect.
You're welcome. Glad to help. The link I pointed you to is an electronic manual of the Sony Google TV Blu-Ray player. You may consider taking the time to understand it better through the documentation offered from that site.
Yea, since I have a TiVo connected & it works normally I assumed my DVD player would as well. Can it still work? Also, where on the TV is the player located? I can't seem to see where.
Wait a second. Which Sony Google TV device do you have, the (NSZ-GT1) Blu-Ray player or (NSX-[24|32|40|46]GT1) television? Or is it the Logitech Revue?
The NSX GT1.
Wait, what?! Is that a typo and you meant the NSZ-GT1 Blu-Ray player? or is one of the following NSX-24GT1, NSX-32GT1, NSX-40GT1, or NSX-46GT1 televisions?
It's the NSX-40GT1.
Okay, then that explains why you don't have the Disc Player app in your particular Google TV device. You would actually use the Input button on your NSG-MR1 remote commander. This will pop-up a dialog box allowing you to choose the correct input of television which the DVD Player is connected.
Okay, when I press Input it has Built-In Tuner Video/Component as available to use & then HDMI 1, 2, 3, 4 as not accessible. Do I then need to make sure something's connected? This is what I orignally assumed would be the way to play the DVD player.
You will have to connect the DVD player's audio and video output into the television. I am assuming the component connection is how the Tivo is connected to it. So, that leaves four HDMI inputs available for the DVD Player.
