So exactly how long is it going to take Google to come out with an update for the GTV Remote that incorporates Voice Search? Is the programmer on vacation this month? It shouldn't be that hard! It's less than a days worth of programming! They already have the existing app, GTV software already has the Voice Search built in, all they need is something to pass the voice string to the GTV box.... Come on Google - you're killing me here!

A days worth of programming, huh? Love comments like this. I am gonna go way out on a limb and assume you're not an engineer.

But... on a positive note, you could use the Able Remote.

There was a recent article that says Able Remote is not yet compatible with the new v3 GTV update (see link below). Is the Able Remote compatible with the Co-Star after the v3 update?

Have you tried the Able remote? There are plenty of things about Android that are better from 3rd party devs (thought that was one of the major perks), and since discovering AR, I no longer even have the Google app on my devices.

Hopefully, someone can tell us if this new Sony remote (w/Mic) pairs with the Co-Star?

That would be awesome, but doubtfull. I can say the co-star update has made changes to the remote pairing capabilities of the co-star. I happen to have 2 co-star remotes, since the update I can only pair one at a time, which stinks, I was using one as a dedicated IR blaster with GTV remote from the other room to control pandora and AVR volume. GTV Remote does have voice search now but it is not without its issues either, on MY co-star it tends to cut the first couple of letters from my search, which renders it pretty much useless for me.

You could always pair a bluetooth headset with the co-star and run searches that way as well, I am getting some luck with the GTV remote and voice searches, but you are not going to get voice commands with it, and at least for me I get some text cut off, almost like the phone is sending the string before the costar opens the search box, ie I search for pandora, the GTV remote recognized "pandora" I press "send" on the gtv remote, co-star opens a search box and displays "andora"

Voice searching on Android (IMO) didn't get REALLY usable until 4.2 (maybe 4.1).. I mean it as there for multiple previous versions.. but it wasn't very good ... and our GTV boxes are stuck back on 3.x... sometimes I swear I see the word "Commodore" while the CS reboots :)

The remote app installs to your Android phone or tablet, not your Co-Star.

Okay but still the voice app was included with the update and is unusable until another update.

[h=3]"This app is incompatible with all of your devices." when trying to install the app to Co-star, google search installed, not using a phone but Co-star device. Voice Search for Google TV is not compatible, thanks for your help.[/h]

Hmm, looks like that particular app is still only available for LG devices I guess?
