Updates to Google TV
One of the great things about Google TV is that we're constantly making improvements to the platform. These updates arrive over-the-air, so your current system evolves and gets even better over time. Over the weekend v1.3 went live with some system improvements, as well as the following:
The media player now supports more WMA audio files
Netflix and CNBC Real Time are better integrated into Google TV
Improved transition between songs in Pandora
Support for Music Unlimited powered by Qriocity on Sony devices
Support for a broader range of Blu-ray discs on Sony devices
The March 15th blog was for the previous update. googletv.blogspot.com hasn't posted yet about this latest update.
Yep just got the update as well, installing now!!
I got the update as well describing it as a security patch. I had stumbled onto this forum while looking for a resolution for lag issues when playing video games. looks like they've fixed it!
the video game lag when playing xbox 360 is nearly unnoticeable now. also, the (remote) controller lag issues looks to have been fixed too?
Maybe they didn't want to admit that these were issues with the set and just called it a security patch...
Anyone us thr GTV remote app on their Android phone? it worked great at first and now the past of couple of months it just force closes all the time.
What input do you have it hooked to and what settings do you have for that input?
I am newbie and a bit confused if I have the latest updates. Searching for system updates says that I have all the latest updates. When I see the googletv blogspot, it says v1.3 has been released. But firmware version still says v2.1_update1. The build number is ogm_2.1_2011032401ON.165187
Can someone please clarify how to identify the latest updates?
sorry for the slow reply.
pre-update: xbox 360 via composite cable with custom settings with all enhancements turned off. i was seeing the same irritable FPS gameplay controller lag on graphics mode.
post update: lag noticeably decreased but to a tolerable level. i leave it on graphics mode to get the best results. ive switched it to hdmi input 1 now and its good to play. i believe composite input still gets the smoothest results, but i didnt like the aesthetics of the wiring.
hope that helps!
have the sony 40"
i believe that to be the latest update build for our model. its the same #s i have...
Thanks Bryan. Got an update this morning. Now it is at ogm_2.1_2011042002ON.165187
Not sure what the update is for.
