I know I'm a little late to the party. But I just recently read where Google stopped development for Google TV. The article I read also mentioned that some Google tv devices will be updated to Android tv. Anyway to know which devices will be updated? Anyway to make a request?

It seems Vizio is a large enough supplier that they "might" have some clout to try to push for their device to be updated.

Over all I like the device. So I don't want to get rid of it. But I've been holding hope that newer apps were going to be developed as Google tv grew, only to recently read that it's been dropped. It's leading me to consider getting Roku.

Nothing I have seen makes me believe the Vizio Co-Star will be updated to the Android TV OS. It might be possible but I don't think it will happen even if it is possible. The LG Google TV models and the Sony NSZ-GU1 are the most likely, if any will be updated, in my opinion and all other models are very unlikely to be updated.
