Need help figuring out what has changed with pbs video. My google tv device (NSZ-GS8) use to play video on this site. When I click play, it keeps displaying "loading ad". Has anyone else run into this issue? How do you fix it? I've already reset the device to factory settings and it didn't resolve the issue. Thanks for your responses in advance.

I just tried a few videos on the PBS web site with my Logitech Revue and I experienced the same issue that you described.

Apparently PBS updated their Flash version to 10.3 (and GTV devices on Honeycomb OS only support Flash 10.2). There is no way to update Flash on GTV so it looks like there is no solution available. If your NSZ-GS8 gets updated to Jellybean then it would probably work with the mobile version of Chrome via HTML5. (EricD previously reported that PBS works with his LG Jellybean GTV television).

    Troubleshooting Guide | PBS Video

    From the above link:

    System Requirements
Supported desktop browsers: Internet Explorer 9+, Firefox 3.6+, Safari 4.0+, Google Chrome
Supported mobile browsers: Safari, Chrome, Browser
    Supports Flash version 10.3+
    Connection speed: Broadband Required

PlayOn works well with the PBS channel. PlayOn HD and its companion DVR PlayLater require a fairly powerful PC with a processor that rates above 2300 at the CPU Benchmark site. I did notice that Plex has a PBS channel but I don't know if it works well enough to use, I never use Plex channels but that might be another option which also requires a PC on the same network as the Google TV device.

PlayOn on PC works well with PBS. Free trial and then $20 a year.

No, never pay $20/year for PlayOn, buy a lifetime license. I purchased a lifetime license in 2012 and continue to use it today, no further fees. The lifetime license for PlayOn/PlayLater is often on sale for around $60 total, payoff is less than 3 years compared to annual fees. It is very useful, polished software for a cord cutter.

Good news! The PBS videos on the PBS web site are working again with the Chrome browser on my Logitech Revue. I tried 6 different videos and they all worked like a charm -:)

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It looks like PBS changed their sytem requirements as it no longer mentions Flash 10.3 and now mentions HTML5 support:

    Troubleshooting Guide | PBS Video

    System Requirements:
Supported desktop browsers: Chrome*, Internet Explorer 8+, Firefox*, Safari*
Mobile devices running: Apple iOS, Android 2.3 and Android 4+
Support for Flash + HTML5 on desktops (auto-detected), HTML5 on devices
Connection speed: Broadband Required (Minimum bandwidth speed of 500kbps)
*Latest, or most widely used version

Just wanted to mention that if you log-in to PBS all of the videos are in HD.

That is great news, I just checked and PBS.org is working great with a Sony NSZ-GT1. Hopefully the few other sites that closed out Google TV with a switch to an unsupported version of Flash will do the same and we can get those back.
