This looks like a nice device. However the article was from May 30th - so as it looks right now the Kickstarter goal doesn't seem likely to be met. IMO no-telling if this device will ever see a production run.

-- About 18 months ago, two brothers from Miami Beach, FL set out to create a way for people to connect to the nation’s top health and wellness professionals live via their television screens, directly from their living rooms. But Sam and Beau Haginas soon realized that they’d need some powerful hardware to make this happen. As a result, the brothers’ goals for their “Reshape” project took on new shape as an Android-powered streaming media device in the form of an HD webcam. Check out the TVPRO: a full HD webcam that turns any TV into a smart TV capable of video calls and conferencing, streaming Netflix, and pretty much anything else Google Play will let you do.

Equipped with a quad-core processor running Android 4.2.2, users can access millions of apps via the Google Play Store to create a customized set-top box with capabilities comparable to that of Roku, Amazon’s Fire TV or Apple TV. The project, currently with patent pending, just kicked off a round of crowdfunding at Kickstarter, and so far 66 backers have raised $15,000. The campaign has 27 days remaining to come up with the rest of the $150,000 goal.

OK this is a bit confusing but apparently there is already a TVPRO device on the market. The following is from the comments section (see below) - taken from the following Android Authority article about the TVPRO device:

I don't understand how they can claim this in a unique, patent-pending design. It's been available for over a year now on aliexpress.com from multiple sellers - http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Newe...uad-core-1-2GHz-1GB-8GB-5M-AF/1859938971.html

Hey AndroiDude, just wanted to let you know that this is our product and we do have patents pending in both US and China. While waiting for patent and trademarks to be filed in the US to start our Kickstarter campaign, we released marketing materials to approved vendors in Asia and like all new products on Alibaba, many fake listings have popped up and despite requests for removal, several remain. Here is our website with our partner company in Shenzhen that you see in our development section of the campaign and also the global website for TVPRO. If you have any questions, feel free to email me at sam@reshape.net Thanks, Sam: WeDo Innovation. ----- TV PRO

Sam, you know as well as many others that this product has been available for sometime now through WeDo Innovation. I'm glad they've found a marketing company (TVPRO) in the US to pitch this product but to claim this product design is yours is misleading. WeDo has been pitching this design since CES 2013 (January 2013). Several 100 units have already been sold through Aliexpress and other wholesale sites.
