    Hello
New to this forum and obviously newbie question. I bought a SONY GTV off eBay without remote, When I was buying I thought I can download the GTV Android app on my Smart phone and make it work. Now I cannot make it work as GTV has be on the same network to work and for that I have to connect it to the network. Without remote it looks almost impossible. Can someone help please.
Please keep in mind I am a High School student and I cannot afford to spend much lol

    Solved.
Borrowed Keyboard from my friend, configured unifying receiver on my computer, connect on my Google TV, setup Internet and connect it through my Android Smart phone. Too early to say that but I can almost control 90% of the functions, so in $60 I have working Google TV w/Bluray Player.

TIP: For all users, if you have a smart phone do download the GTV App and configure it, FOR JUST IN CASE IF YOU EVER LOST YOUR REMOTE OR DOG EAT YOUR REMOTE lol.
Thanks for the help, you guys are awesome!

    Hi,

I am in similar situation right now. Could you tell what keyboard you used (if this is important), and how did you configure receiver?

    Thank you,

I borrowed Logitech K700 KB from my friend. The new unit cost about $27, but as I mentioned before I am a student and I cannot spend much lol. Hope it will help.
    Good Luck

I just bought the keyboard but have some issues regarding its usage. I can't seem to get the "Next Track" and "Previous Track" hotkeys to work in Windows Media PLAYER or in VLC Player. They don't do anything in these programs whether I hold down the FN key or not. They work as fast forward and rewind only in Windows Media CENTER. Is there any way to get these to work in WMP or VLC?

I know this is an old thread but i am Having a simular issue. I moved and cant find the remote cant set up my sony 46 google tv. I have been unable to use the tv for over a week. I was wondering if the Logitech Mini Remote Control Keyboard for Logitech Revue & Google TV would work?
I could get the K700 but this one is more compact.
    Sorry for the caps.

Yes that will work. What I don't recall is if the original remote is required for setup if you have to restore to factory settings. That controller is available on eBay for $37 shipped. Just connect the unifying receiver to a USB port, it should come paired with the unifying receiver but if it isn't, pairing requires a PC but is a breeze.
