Despite not having any help from Sony a user has figured out how to get into the recovery menu. So, we have "step one" of the rooting process in play and now we need to get to the next steps. Despite the fact that this is just the start of the process it's still exciting. Thanks to Apeman on AndroidForums for figuring this out!
