Works like a charm ...! As you know, the SlingPlayer app (I'm Going To Say SlingPlayer App For Google TV, I Could Be Wrong With The Correct Name lol) is already installed on the Vizio Co-Star, sweet ...!

I recently received my co-star that I intend to use almost exclusively to run slingplayer to view a cable DVR in a different room. It seems to work well enough (after finding it cleverly hidden under something called 'spotlight'...), but it is somewhat slow to access and start up. Is there any way short of leaving it powered up and running all the time to make starting it easier or better yet, have it start automatically at power-on?

Are you talking about the time it takes to find the app when you go to spotlight and then tv movies and then find the slingplayer app link, because I've timed the process when putting the sling app on my main app menu for a one button startup and I can have it connected to my slingbox and running in under 30 seconds. My slingcatcher needs double that or more, so I think streamling the process will get the result you want.

You first need to look at the below link on how to take the slingplayer app under spotlight, tv and movies, and send it to your all apps menu. From there, you can add it to your main app menu or if you want, make the slingplayer app the first thing to run on bootup. Go to the menu button, look for home and app settings, startup app and if you've successfully added it to your all apps menu, you can then choose the slingplayer app as the default app to startup on boot up.

Understand, that this is coming from a Sony and revue owner, so the process might not be exact in comparison to the co-star, but you should still be able to make it work with the above info.

Thanks - the overall time isn't so bad, but you have to pay attention while waiting for the menus appear to navigate through them. I had gotten as far as setting a slingplayer bookmark and getting the bookmarks app into the favorites at the top with the most recently used bookmark sorted to the top of the list when you open it, so that's a little better. When I am home again I'll see if I can figure out how to make an individual bookmark show up on the home screen like an app. I haven't seen where you set something to start on boot-up yet - does someone know how to do that on the vizio?

A slingcatcher replacement really begs for a googletv app that would take full advantage of the remote control.

You'll find it buried in the spotlight app, but once you find it, you can add a shortcut to it in your homescreen by clicking the options button.

    Two questions:
I have a revue that I no longer use because of the entire sling player being totally unusable. Wisdom does the apk you made work on the revue? Can you send me it please.

If not, looks like I will get a co-star to replace the revue. Does the slinplayer under spotlight work flawlessly? Does it constantly crash, etc?

    Thanks for the help.

I can't because I own the Sony and not the Vizio, and I'm not sitting in front of it, but in general there are only a few ways to do things on a google tv. 1) You select something with the cursor pad, then you press the options/menu button on your remote. 2) Select with the cursor pad and then hold down the select button until a context menu pops up. 3) Select with the track pad, and hold down the trackpad select button until a context menu pops up. Oddly enough sometimes this results in a menu discrete from option 2. 4) Arrow to a button on the screen and click it or if you can't seem to reach it, use the trackpad to select it. Some buttons look more like graphics than buttons. Once you get the correct option to pop up, you tell it you want to save a bookmark to your home screen.

just open up the slingbox app. once you open it hit the menu button on the vizio remote(the button with the three lines). That menu will give you the option to add it to the home screen.
