Long overdue, but finally here...once you've settled into the newness, what do you think!?! Is this update meeting or exceeding your expectations? Does the improved functionality make GTV more usable, more fiddly, or a more transparent experience? For someone that still doesn't have one (I want a Revue, but was on the fence until the apps appearance) is now the time, or would you stick with another competitor?

I got it this morning; biggest disappointment so far is that it doesn't automatically include HBOGO and Netflix results in search, only Amazon. Why would I want to see results I have to pay for when I already pay for services that don't charge per episode? Also, am I mistaken, or did the video previews of the update not say that those would be included in search? Is there a setting I'm missing?

Yes, that is something that I recall the marketing of Google TV claiming it would do. Yet, I've never been able to get it to reliably do so.

Does Netflix bitstream 5.1DD+ audio (via HDMI) / adaptive streaming 1080p video/subtitles support? also, Amazon (VOD/Prime) & HBOGo are in Apps or websites? Is there a queue for Amazon Prime?

    Cheers!

Did you change the settings on where you want it to search from?

Is it adaptive streaming? u may have to wait about 30 sec for PQ! It usually start at a low and ramp up to high.

so far i like it. its a big improvement over what it was.

i do have an issue with the media player since it updated though. i set it up and played around with the tv for hours and it was great, but within 5 minutes of my wife touching the tv she gets it stuck in the "internal memory" screen for the media player when trying to use the media server. never had this issue before, and can't get the tv to back out of that internal memory screen. it'll use all the other stuff on the tv fine, but since she clicked on internal memory once it will only go to that screen when we try to use the media player. do any of you other users have any advice? or has this happened to anyone else so far? i tried to search google for a solution to this issue but its been no help so far.

i have 2 young kids each with a 32 inch google tv in their room. they use the media server more then anything else on the tvs, so i am worried that when those tvs eventually update too that i'll have the same issue in there if they accidentally click on internal memory in the media player screen. i am gonna have to reformat the tv if i can't get this sorted out, but i can't do that everytime. any help will be really appreciated.

besides this single issue, the new update is epic. i love it.

While that may be true, the GTV promotion videos showed HBO and Amazon showing up in your searches. Maybe there is a setting that you must enter to get those to show up (if you subscribe to those services).

Thanks,…. what about Netflix does it support adaptive streaming (1080p)? (the video usually start at a low and ramp up to high, takes about 30 sec to get good PQ).

    is subtitles/5.1DD+ audio menu active!

I see that Amazon and Netflix are already in the searches. But I don't see HBOGO though. I will check that and confirm.

I cancelled my Netflix subscription. Someone with Netflix can confirm this.

I checked this morning at 645 am and there was no update available. By 830 I had the notifaction alerting me to donwload. It took less than 5 minutes to download and it installed very quickly. Overall the update process was very smooth.

I got to play with it for 20 minutes this morning. Having access to the market gives the platform a feeling of being far less contrainted which is great. The Sony Bluray runs honeycomb like a champ- very smooth and responsive. The interface feels very current- there is nothing to miss about the way 2.1 works. Netflix is updated, the app itself looks better and has improvements in layout but I have not streamed anything yet so I cant comment on quality or codec support.

App store works as advertised, there is a lot of stuff in there but I did not see a gmail or google voice app. I need to poke around more. There was an DLNA media app that was google tv optomized and it saw my NAS immediately but could not see into the folders. I will play with that some more tonight.

Overall my first impression is very positive.
