    Hi,

My Logitech revue stops working after some random amount of time, sometimes 20 minutes, sometimes an hour, or anywhere in or around that. It stops responding and no longer outputs video. Need to pull the plug to restart it as it no longer responds to the the keyboard when its in that state.

I think it's either overheating, which I don't think I can "resolve" as it's been fine for almost a year in the same cabinet with the same or less usage of other devices, or it's dying and on it's way out.

Is there an easy (supported) way to "migrate" my settings and apps to a new revue?

    Thanks in advance,
    Mike

First I would suggest trying a factory reset and see if that helps.

There is a way to save (sync) your GTV bookmarks to the cloud and have them restored on another Revue. Also you can have your apps restored automatically. They will be restored even if you do a factory reset. However I believe things such as your customized row of apps on your home screen will have to be set-up again if you do a factory reset.

Go to your settings and then "Accounts & Sync" and check where it says "background data" and "Auto-sync". Also make sure that it says "Sync Is On' for your primary Google account.

Next go to "Privacy and Settings" and check where it says "Backup My Data" and "Automatic Restore".

Also: From Chrome>Settings>Google Chrome Sync>checkmark (Sync browser bookmarks w/your Google Acct)>Google Account (Select an Account to sync)>Choose Acct.

There is a certain procedure you need to follow to have your GTV bookmarks synced to the cloud. This was explained by Carl in the following post:

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Thanks to a poster in the Web-nuts GTV group, I think I can explain the problem. As Norbert explains it in his excellent post, we actually have two Bookmark screens. If your account is properly synced you should see a bookmark screen that has an "Other Bookmarks" folder. Many will remember that when we first logged on this is the Bookmark screen we saw. But w/Factory resets and upgrades, this screen reverted back to the unsynced bookmark page. Remember, the Logitech Revue bookmarks are not saved to Google Bookmarks.

From Chrome>Settings>Google Chrome Sync>checkmark (Sync browser bookmarks w/your Google Acct)>Google Account (Select an Account to sync)>Choose Acct.

The obvious missing link has been clicking on each acct you want to sync.

Now you will see the screen that has the Other folder. You can now save sites to this page. Just go to sites and add yer bookmarks as you normally would. The other folder you can use for sites that you want separate from the main folder. For example I use it for Movies and Videos.

Now, you can also go back and forth from the synced bookmark page to the unsynced w/out loosing any of the synced sites. This is great for retrieving saved Favs and adding them to the synced page. Just remember to repeat the steps in settings.

So to recap: we have two Bookmark pages. One we will only see if the account is properly synced. Our bookmarks are NOT stored on Google Bookmarks! And you can use both pages as long as you make the necessary changes in Settings."

The new box requires going through setup steps so I can't think of anything you can do to transfer settings. All Play Store apps acquired under the same account will show up as available for install with the new box and you will have to download and install the apps, no additional fees. As far as any apps acquired through a different process, sideload, etc, I don't know what you do to install those on the new box. I have 3 Google TV boxes and have installed the same apps on each by going to the Play Store but I don't have any sideloaded or otherwise acquried apps.
