I am a Google TV newbie, so forgive me if what I ask is obvious to you all but I would like some help. I have the Sony NSZ-GS7 and I am based in the UK. I go into Google Play. I navigate to Categories, choose a category and I get shown: Top Free, Top New Free I never get any others, never any Paid or Top New Paid or anything else. I am signed in, I have my Google wallet all setup. I can actually buy apps, but only from the Google Play > Apps > Staff Recommendations That is the only area that shows paid apps to purchase. I can install apps I have that I have purchased for my other Android devices if they are compatible. But I cannot get a list of apps that can be purchased unless they are Staff Recommendations. That doesn't sound right to me. This is a new, out of the box machine running firmware 3.2. Does anyone have any idea why I get no paid apps? OR for that matter how I can fix it or how I can speak to a human being to resolve this? I have no issues with paid apps on the Google Play store via the web, via my Android phone or Android Tablet. I'd appreciate your help
That is how it works for more then a year. There are only featured apps and other FREE apps. Yes, that's stupid.
Are you able to get the full list by going to the Google Play Store web site with the Chrome browser on your NSZ-ZS7? If not then try changing your Chrome user agent to "generic". So many reviews criticized GTV for being too complicated - so IMO this is one response from Google to try and keep the Google Play Store app for GTV "simplified".
You should be able to go to this link https://play.google.com/store/search?q="google+tv"&c=apps with your computer browser and change the all devices box to whatever google tv box you own and get a good idea of what apps are available for your google tv. You can also change the all prices box to free or paid to sort the apps as well.
