Since the latest YouTube update on my 1st-gen Sony Blu-Ray GTV, many times while I am watching YouTube clips, behind the scenes a subscription will update itself and then the video feed stops playing.

I get the error message: "There was a problem with the network." Or "could not verify the user." I sign out and sign back in, to no avail.

I have to reboot GTV and start over. More than annoying. It seems like everything is always in beta with GTV.

ps: Occasionally, when YouTube is in the background, an option pops up to force quit YouTube and that helps. Is there a keyboard command to force quit YouTube? So I dodn't have to reboot the entire system.

I uninstalled the update by going to the Play Store. I believe the indication all updates to the YouTube would be uninstalled but whether or not that is true, doesn't matter to me, I will wait for a stable update in the future.

You could try going to system settings -->manage applications --> and then force stop the YouTube app.

I've tried that and it does not work. I have a Co-Star, and I go into system settings, guided setup, video sizing, resize the screen, and the Co-Star restarts.

Great idea, Chris. I uninstalled the update.

ps: You should see the blitzkrieg of one-star reviews panning the YouTube update on the Play Store page. Wow--not one positive notice. So it ain't just me. Many others thank this update is truly awful.
