Netflix crash issue

    Hello all,

    First post here. Haven't had need to yet.
    New user of Google TV (Sony NSZ-GS7). Everything been working OK (about 3 months).
    Suddenly tonight Netflix app starts up with the splash screen for about 5 seconds and then goes black and does not start. I then hit the settings button and select the option to "Quit Netflix". I have gone into the "Manage Applications" in the system settings and Force Quit the app and then cleared the data and the cache.
    I have also re-booted the NSZ. All other network related apps work as expected (Youtube, etc...)

    Any further ideas would be appreciated.

    I am having the same problem. Also the Google play store is not even showing Netflix as an app that is even available. Did they divorce?

    I'm having the same problem on my GS8. I have a Revue also and that works.

    So maybe we are finally getting Netflix user profiles and they are working on it.

    I would try calling Netflix & Sony support.

    You could also try a factory reset - but I would try calling in first.

    Netflix comes pre-installed and is not downloadable as far as I can tell (maybe I'm wrong?)

    Hi

    Folks, I just got off the phone w/Netflix. They are aware of the problem and stated they suffered an outage and have a few more tweaks to work out. The App should be back up & running shortly. Guesstimate: 2 hrs.

    Yep service is back up. It was down for a few hours.

    I'm disappointed that they still haven't added user profiles to Sony's newest GTV, and other GTV devices have it.

    The reason they were down was because they rolled out an upgrade for full support to all streaming devices. The upgrade will have profiles & more. This article explains it. Notice that they mention all the streaming devices except one.

    Care to guess which...

    It already has Profiles and an excellent GUI not designed by Netflix. Mind you Apple did change something with their Netflix app which was annoying. It had to do when you could view a summary.

    An app's interface should mesh with the device.
