Thought it would be good to have a thread for your must have apps. Please post title, small description, and picture if possible. * I would love to have the first must have app posting but sadly i am yet to find an app that really impresses me. I was excited about call toaster but it seems impossible to download to the TV.
Hulu Plus Amazon Instant Video CinemaNow Vudu Blockbuster Ondemand AIM instant Messenger LogMeIn (Remote PC client) SSH/Telnet (Secure Shell/Terminal) client RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol) Slingplayer (Slingbox client) Qmobile (QNAP NAS client) An app to blind people with a projector (inside joke)
1-Custom PIP window with is one volume control; 2-Hulu (Not plus, I cant pay for it from canada ) 3-VPN setting; 4-Tv Recorder; 5-Multi-User;
I sure haven't seen any report it does work yet but that doesn't mean it isn't a must have feature for some.
I got my update in the wee hours of this morning. I had a little time to play before I left for work. I must say that the Classy Fireplace made me laugh and I will most likely keep it. I have a huge wish list, but I want to see what is really available first. Oh, Crunchy Roll was interesting, watched a little Japanese TV. I hope to find an app that will allow me to easily access my network storage. I wonder if I can just plug a 2 TB USB drive into the TV for extra storage (FAT32 I'm sure). Just thrilled to see the update finally arrive.
Ok I'm confused, it sounded like the op was talking about must have apps that actually exist and are usable now, but this seems like a wish list thread now...
Reading the original post, I dont' see how you can come to any other conclusion. What with the desire to have a picture posted, and the lament that he hasn't found any himself...
I think that is what was meant as well but the fact is, it wasn't how the question is written. We have been discussing apps here for months and only had Android Market for a few days so much of the discussion about apps has been regarding apps being developed, apps for other Android devices, and apps that some want quickly but don't exist. "What is a must have app?" is not the same question as "What is a must have app currently available for Google TV?" even if you came to the conclusion that precise question that wasn't asked is what should be answered. The OP indicates, post a picture if possible, again if the app is in development, no picture is possible but mentioning that app is certainly a valid response to the question as written.
I had no problem understanding the intent. Although I do think it's quite premature to be asking the question at all...
So anyone have the apk slingplayer for tablets? I already tried to 1.3 mobile app and it just crashed.
It is not going to work because Sling Media wrote most of the code with the Native Developers Kit for ARM, and the x86 NDK for Android is not compatible with Google TV. Unfortunately, I'm under NDA for Slingplayer for Google TV so I can't give you much more information. The best I can do for you is point you to the public sign-ups for Slingbox.com - SlingPlayer for Connected Devices Sign Up Page
