Quantcast

Movie plays, but in a very narrow band (about 1" wide).

Just wondering if anyone might know what's wrong with my file format. Tried playing with both Plex and the standard Media Player. It does play on my Samsung TV (running Plex) just fine. It does play, only it's squished into about 1" wide on the screen. This is on a Sony Google TV (not the set top box).

I've had the same problem with some episodes of stargate sg1 - I forget what I was using to play them with but I had the exact same problem as you. They showed up great on the computer but when I played them with I think it was the wdtv and playon I had the exact same problem. I ended up taking the files and re-encoding them and that fixed the problem for me. Have you tried putting the file on a thumb drive and popping it in the sony tv and view it that way as that will rule out plex as the culprit and make it more of an encoding issue I would think.
