Is there a way to turn off subtitles using the media player? I've got some videos that were mkv files that had encoded subtitles. I converted them to mp4 videos. When I play them on my computer, I can turn off the subtitles, is there a way to turn them off on gtv media player

If you encoded the subtitles during conversion, you probably hard coded them into the movie itself. In other words, they are probably written into the frame. Both Logitech and Sony Media Players don't actually support subtitles otherwise. One way to test it is by opening the movie in Windows Media Player and see if you can toggle the subtitles.

Oh weird. I don't know how I over looked that. Dunno. Probably something his DLNA server is doing. Another way to tell, is to check the file with Media Info. An embedded subtitle stream will be separate from the video and audio stream.

Could it be that GTV supports subtitles inside MP4? All my files with subtitles are MKV, so I can not test it. :(

I guess anything is possible. I've only used subtitles on a few foreign flicks. The tools I use will embed the subtitles into the video stream as opposed to adding the text stream into the container. Btw, you could test it with a media converter. LOL.
