I bought my 46' Sony Google tv on 11/2/11 it was new and never used before. I never attempted to install any apps I then updated to 2.0 android 3.1 via over the air update and started to receive messages that "Update are available" and when clicking on the notification it will crash the market app or take me to a page of empty apps. I have cleared the markets cash and rebooted but makes no difference. I still get notified once every other day or so.

There were four apps included with the update which were updated by the developer after the package was created and distributed. That's why you have to update them immediately after the update. I believe if memory serves me correctly they are Napster, Twitter, Pandora, and Gallery. I recommend trying a factory reset (GTV Settings > Privacy & Security > Factory Reset). It's probably some peculiar setting or cache indirectly related to the Android Market.
