I convinced my parents to buy the sony google tv unit. However, when switching between HD and SD channels on our comcast box, a brief loud glitching noise comes from the speakers . Also, for a second the "No HDMI input connected" screen pops up while the TV adjusts the resolution from HD to SD.

There has always been a short delay when doing this, but with the google TV it emits a very high pitched crackle/glitch while switching and it continues to startle my parents! Any idea?

Thank you in advance for any possible solutions!

Thanks for the suggestion. I found a similar solution: Turned off the Dolby as you suggested, but the crackle was still there. In addition to doing that, I went into the "audio pass through (HDMI)" menu and changed it from "Auto" to "PCM" and the SD to HD crackling noise is gone!
