    Hi

I just saw a video from Google with Jurek Foryciarz who is a product manager at Google TV.
About 37.25 minutes in the video the talks comes to the Logitech/Google case.

    He says:
"Google will continue providing updates for the Revue box,
one of them is coming in the next couple of weeks.
Logitech is one of our important partners, so don’t expect this will be the end of the story with Logitech."

And he smiles….. wonder what this means…
Perhaps the first announcement from Logitech has been misunderstood or over interpreted.

So its nice to own a Revye again :)

Btw: link to the video is here:

I had read somewhere that Logitech intended to "support the Revue until the warranties expire". How long is the actual warranty? And I wonder if this new information means Logitech will keep updating the boxes after all the warranties expire.

Yes normally a year of warrenty..
But I understand his answer this way...
That Google will contniue the updates, and not Logitech.

And then there clearly is something about their partnership that we dont know anything about.
Im thinking of his smile, when he is talking about their partnership.

So Im not worried after this video.

And anyway after a year or 2 I changed the hardware anyway.
Im guessing the processors and harddrive capacity soon will be bigger.

thanks for posting up this hangout,,,
if it has not be done yet,,, some one should post up a link to this thread in the Logitech Forum.. they have all the pitch forks and torches ready,,
and seem about to storm the castle,,,

on a side note... hats off to google for doing those hang outs. for a PM to take time and field questions from the user base is a really solid thing to do..

    Today's Twitter from Logitech
"Logitech Revue devices will receive the automatic and free updated version of Google TV before the end of the year."

At least it is some reply, but I wonder what is the holdup.

I re-posted my transcript of this video on this thread: http://www.googletvforum.org/forum/...n/3609-hangout-jurek-foryciarz.html#post19560

Apologize for any inconvenience it may have caused, but I realized that this was posted in the Revue forums. Since this was more general Google TV information with minor Sony and Logitech references as discussed by someone involved with Google's development, I decided to post it in the Google TV Development Discussion forum which seemed more appropriate to the context of the video.

You guys are kidding about taking his cues to mean that there is anything new going on with GoogleTV at Logitech... right??

If all it takes is a bland platitude about how much partners are valued and a mysterious smile, I'm worried about you guys.

Seriously, do you realize how little he actually said about any future GoogleTV with Logitech?

I think he farted when he smiled, I put the volume up and I heard a strange noise.

Maybe Logitech really wanted to can it, but Google doesn't want them to give up and persuading them to continue on?

Whatever the outcome is, Google taking over the Revue platform update if things fall through is a good thing. :D

Thanks, Toowboy. I will eventually; however, my intentions is to keep it posted here uniquely for a while and allow different web crawlers to find along the next couple of days. That way this site becomes the original source for the transcript. Hopefully, this will generate more traffic here which benefits both the owner and users of this web site.

very well done!! eferz,, i just decided to watch the vid.. and.. mho.. the guy is high enough the chain on product dev.. that if any one knows what going on. whats to come.. i would take his word.. the truth is we dont know.. they know.. and he pretty much answered every question to the best of his ability.. now.. you can be a glass half empty and smashed to the ground kinda cat.. who will always see the cloud before any silver lining.. but i think google need to have sucess with the revue.. and there may be contractual obligations by logitech.. to support the revue even after dropping the line.. i dont know.. but we are not privileged to know just what the contracts between logitech and google stated.. google need as many GTV out in the public as possible.. and they need good public exposure.. every google tv is a proof of concept and revenue stream.. its what they are banking on for adverts. that will grease the wheels of GTV.. there are a lot more facets to the puzzle then well we lost money we are out a here... mho..

any how i will choose to take a higher ups google Project manager over some sensational stilted blogging that is just twitter fodder.. im not 100 percent sure revue develop will not die.. but i have a feeling after reading the transcript and watching the vid... we can have a bit more optimism..

    jmho

please stop this nonsense. One of my tenant works on the google tv platform, he told me that the revue will get honeycomb google tv and that is it. Google will only fix any bugs that should appear on the platform. If google tv 3.0 comes out the revue will not get it.
