    Hi there,
I've been looking around for a solution of my problem and it seems like the Revue was not designed to ever be turned off. Be it as it may, what are my options to turn it off? I have the Revue in my bedroom and the fan is definitely noticeable, to the point where I get up in the middle of the night and unplug it. I heard that the screen timeout in the settings menu could turn it off or put it in a standby-like state but that doesn't work for me at all.
    What are my options here?

    thanks

Even in the stand-by state the Revue still uses aprox. 11 watts of power. So it's not really a power-saving mode (when in use it uses aprox. 13 watts of power). What I do with mine is just unplug it at night when I go to sleep. You could also plug your Revue into a power strip and then just switch off the power strip at night.

That can't be good for the flash memory though?

Not only that, you have to reboot or restart your box everyday that you use it..... Just a thought.. :p

I remember the old days of dot matrix printers....they were LOUD! So a solution was to put these dot matrix printers inside of a box with acoustic sound dampening. So this is just another way to explore a possible solution. Make sure you have enough ventilation in the box if you do go this route. I like to think outside the box....??? or is it inside the box this time??

Actually, if you have a Dish receiver feeding it, it stays at 13 watts...as even when off, the Dish receiver sends screen info...aargh.
