Anyone know if it's possible to listen to the Play Music app while watching TV (from the Live TV) app? For example, if I wanted to have a football game on but have music in the background. I'm guessing not but thought I'd reach out to the community.

Yes, it's absolutely something you can do, and something I do often on the Sony Google TV. I'm not sure about the Vizio.

    Ready?

Launch Play Music and start playing some tracks.

Go back to Live TV. You'll notice that the TV has taken over your audio.

Open up your NOTIFICATIONS panel and you'll see that you have your MUSIC CONTROLS in there now. Press PLAY and the music will start again and your TV audio will be muted.

    Easy peasy.

This doesn't work for Pandora, unfortunately. However, if you want to listen to pandora and have a live wallpaper playing (or just have a blank screen), here's a video tutorial about how to do that:

Wow, that's great news. Thanks for the reply. I too have the Sony Google TV (the older Blu-ray player model) so it should hopefully work!

OK, halox, everything worked as you explained except for one flaw: the Play music didn't take over the TV sound. It was definitely "running" in that the song progressed but the sound remained from the channel I was on.

Are there any settings I may need to adjust. It seems there are a bunch of Audio settings some of which I'm not sure what they do. Could be a hardware thing too. I have the Sony NSZ-GT1. Any ideas?

Interesting. Maybe some different settings/hardware in the NSZ-GT1. Let me think about it.
