If I use the headphone, the TV's own speakers are inactivated. Anyone with a solution to cure this problem? Thanks.

    Hi Kodosalbion

I'm confused... If you are using Headphones wouldn't you want the TV speakers to be inactive? Well...sometime I like a stereo sound while watching a movie. What I found that works is removing the headphone jack far enough until both play. It is a lil tricky but it should work. On my PC it is not an option.

Thank you Carlszone. You're right, it's a bit confusing. My wife's hearing is partly impaired that's why she needs bigger volume. With my previous tv set separating voice output was not a problem. I'll try as suggested. Another option may be to connect the headphone with the cable network set box.

I'm surprised the above suggestion fell short of saying ... grind the tip of that plug .... :D

    here're also some more suggestions,

plug any of the following into the TV RCA/audio out (adapter maybe needed):

    - Use PC speakers as AMP ..... (headphone > PC speakers > TV)
    - If the headphones have volume control.
    - (inexpensive) Headphone-AMP

    Lol!

W/electronics sometimes trying the simplest solution first, works best. The headphone jack has two indentations for just this reason. W/modern TVs this may no longer be possible.

    KISS still applies...
