"Lenovo wasn't on the list of Google TV partners, but for good reason: the company has just announced that, in addition to its new tablet and smartphone, it will soon be launching a "Smart TV" powered by none other than Ice Cream Sandwich."

Lenovo K91 Android 4.0 Smart TV | Ubergizmo (click for full article)

"[CES 2012] It looks like Lenovo has just made history by releasing the first Android 4.0 Smart TV. Interestingly, note that the Lenovo K9 is runs Android 4.0, not Google TV, so Lenovo has taken the approach of leveraging the Google Android 4.0 code and wrapped a new "smart UI" around it (as Lenovo calls it).

Lenovo aims at delivering video-on-demand, web apps, and of course TV programs. That last really needs to be clarified because without support from the content industry, it's always a bit hard to get traditional TV programs, but if Lenovo plays it well, there is a lot of potential.

At its core, the Lenovo K91 smart TV is powered by a 1.5GHz Qualcomm 8060 SnapDragon processor, which is similar to the one used in the now defunct HP TouchPad. The good news is that it should be fast enough to play 1080p movies and run casual games.

TV-wise, the Lenovo K91 has a pretty decent design, but it won't rival the most beautiful TVs from Samsung or LG. Still, it offers features like WiFi, 240Hz and SRS surround sound - all of which aren't especially rare, but the integrated webcam is definitely not common. Fortunately, Lenovo is using a 55" IPS LCD display which should have great color reproduction and view angle."
