I was just greeted by another system update message on my sony blu ray box. Here is hoping for good things. anyone know what goodies I should be expecting?
Does anyone use Facebook? Just before this update Facebook's webpage would not render correctly. It is still an issue after update.
Build ogm_2.1_20101215030N.164108. I don't know about facebook but the two things I care about were not fixed. The sound and video still cut out for a few seconds when switching to and from Picture in picture and (this is relevant only for Sony's) the media player content is still not included in search. Sigh! Maybe the next update. (one more thing... My Tv stutters (dropping frames maybe) on occasion and it is most noticeable when watching football. I am watching a game now and it did it again. I guess that was not updated either. That is high up there on my list too. Maybe next time). EDIT: Sputnick - I loaded facebook and it seemed to render fine for me. I had not done so before so I don't have a before/after reference but I would guess they did fix it. Good to know something got better with this update.
CircusDad .. I notice a little stuttering when watching football too. But my TV is a 60Hz LCD so I dont know if that plays into it or not. I would have to hook it up to my plasma to make a comparison. I'm watching the KC/BAL game now and so far so good.
It sure would be nice if an accessible summary of added features and addressed issues were provided with each update so users don't have to scramble to find out what has actually been done.
The video and sound cut out is across all platforms, happens on the Logitech Revue as well. This is pretty common for most PIP functions in general (my Samsung TV does it with any sources as a comparison.
This is an issue to bring up with Sony. Logitech has posted exactly what was fixed in the upgrades and any new features as well.
I received the update about a hour ago and I did not see anything new at all. I did notice that about 5 minutes later Chrome crashed and would not come back. I was able to go back to live TV but I have not tried to get back on line yet. I wonder if I just reboot the whole system maybe it would correct what happend with the update!
Allright guys!! We are gonna have to break these posts apart.... From here on out... Please post these update topics into the correct categories... Please start putting Sony with the right Sony's ie.. box or tv and put the Logitech Revue into its correct place, and we will start dealing with Vizio Samsung as needed.. Thanks
Another suggestion is for folks to start populating their signatures with the hardware they're using!
Sparkyscott21 - I was the original poster and I don't see why a post about a general google tv update is supposed to be posted in a specific hardware section. I figure if I had posted it in the Sony section the moderator of that section would have said it should be bumped out to the general discussion since it pertains to a general google TV update. Now, if the update is only coming to Sony boxes (and IF I had a way of knowing that) that would be a different story. Not trying to be difficult, just trying to help you understand the context. Alphawave7 - that is a good idea. I will update my profile.
Noticed the SAME THING. I checked for the DLNA search, didnt get it. I havent noticed any difference with the latest update...this sucks
