I've got my Sony Google TV set to go completely off when turned off (to conserve power). When I turn it on, the audio volume is much louder than I want it to be. Is there a way to configure the sound to start at a lower volume setting? Without having to switch the TV to go into standby mode at power down? It definitely does not remember the previous audio volume setting from when it was last shutdown. Thanks for the help.

I believe mine also remembers the last volume set (and I also power down completely).

You can test the problem out by turning the volume all the way down before you shut it off and if it's remembering the settings, it should start up silently. I did this once when I thought my tv was doing the same thing.
