Is the out-of-the-box sound awful on your Sony Google tv?

Wow, the sound on my Sony Gtv is pretty bad compared to my old clunker tvs! Mine sounds like the inside of a tin can.

Is the sound bad on your Sony Gtv? Did you wind up purchasing a sound bar or other sound system?

Mine sounds fine. Are you sure that the speakers haven't blown in your Sony Internet TV?

I've only had it for two weeks so I don't think so. There was no sign that it had been one that had been returned to the store.

The sound on my 46" was on "standard". I switched to to "dynamic" and it sounds a little better.

Does the new 2.0 update have an equalizer?

Not 100% sure, but, I have seen it as an app , not sure if it's in both Sony and Revue...

I was thinking about buying a soundbar to put underneath the TV. Anyone try that yet? I am somewhat dissatisfied with the dynamics of the TV sound. I have to put it all the way up to 40 sometimes to get a decent sound from dialogue.

Best Buy will return anything now without charging a restocking fee, so it may be worth a try. Supposedly, they are not as good as surround sound but are a big improvement from the built-in speakers of today's thin tv's.

this tv is so frustrating I am about to return it. Sony told me you can't play sound from both the TV and external speakers at the same time which I used to do with my old TV because I do not have surround sound, anyone have a workaround? Or should I just send it back to Amazon, the tv is so complicated for a non-techie.

I do that's why I ask. Who makes a tv that isn't technologially advanced enough to allow the option to play both? Google. Who makes a tv with the most retarded interface? Google. Who makes a TV with a controller that sucks beyond anything I've seen? Google. Who makes a TV where half the features don't work? Google. Who uses the crappy Android operating system? Google. This TV sucks, I'm sending it back to Amazon this weekend and waiting for Apple to come out with something that doesn't require a total nerd with no life to set the thing up. There's a reason Apple is crushing Google and now I know why.

Angry. Get a proper a/v system and stop complaining that the sound sucks (along with everything else).

I have the 32" sony google tv and I thought the sound from the tv was pretty good althogh theres not that much bass, I ended up buying he sony htct150 3d sound bar & sub. Now that I have both running together I get awesome sound back from tv, video games & movies.

I'm not an audiophile, but no I don't notice bad sound at all. In fact, I was surprised at how good it sounded for stereo speakers on a TV.

    EDIT: I have a Sony NSX-40GT1 (40 inch LED)

I have the Revue connected over optical to a Logitech Z906 speaker system when I am developing TV apps. Sounds nice. If the Sony has optical then it could be a system to recommend.
