    By this,I mean click on the insert image button on the reply box and paste your URL into the URL section,then hit OK.

    I hope it is showing up for you to prove that it is working.
    It even loaded a small demo after hitting OK.

    Edit:Not sure how to do it in an email though.

    Another way (although it's a little more complcated than retroben's suggestion) is to start a free account and upload the web pic to photobucket. You can resize and edit the photo before adding the link to a post or e-mail. Photobucket also is a good work around for sites that don't allow hot-links.
