Wondering if the TV is natively putting out 240hz or if that is only when trumotion is turned on?

I came across a detailed thread on AVS Forum about this subject that you might find interesting (Not specifically about your model of LG GTV - but about the LG 120HZ, 240HZ TruMotion topic):

    LG Trumotion 120hz question, HELP!

ok so LG achieves higher Hz specs by using back light scanning...

basically while using a 60Hz LCD panel, the back light will flicker on and off, inserting a black frame, thus achieving 120Hz and 240Hz etc..

when 'Trumotion' is turned on, all that does is enable the 'motion interpolation' processing. when 'Trumotion' is off, the motion interpolation is disabled but the TV is still producing 120/240 Hz.
