I just got this new LG Google TV 55G2 yesterday. So far lov'n it.

I have a Google Nexus 4 ( from LG) phone as well.

I have pictures and videos on the phone.

use a DLNA app on your phone and then download an app on the GTV that allows you to play media via DLNA (for example BubbleUpnP or Avia) and then find your server and play the media.

you can also upload the videos to youtube and watch them there, and for pictures you can upload them to your picasa account and the 'Photos' app will link to your picasa account.

    1. You can push YouTube videos from your phone to the TV.
    2. You can't push anything else natively. A real disappointment and part of the reason my TV is going to be returned. I've never had much luck with convoluted solutions such as Plex, etc.

    1) This is a really awesome feature...
    2) this is just not true...you can push media via DLNA, just download a compatible DLNA player from the play store, or use Avia...or better yet, you can use PLEX. its super easy to use, even a an iPhone user could set it up.

This TV does NOT handle DLNA natively, which is what I said. PLEX works for about 85% of my media, which is great, but not really acceptable for me. YMMV.

Even it's close brother the xxLM6700 has DLNA baked in. This is my kvetch.

granted, when the G2 was first released it did not come with a pre-installed app for DLNA playback.... after one of the first updates now it does, so it does have DLNA natively. again i think you misunderstand where this TV is coming from. its coming from android not from the traditional TV industry.
