I've looked for days and cant find any step by step guide to do this... I have a collection of mkv files, 720p majority DTS audio... Can somebody please for the life of me tell me what's the best way to stream from my external USB HD? I've tried ViMu, Mizuu, and Plex... I have PMS installed on my pc, and ViMu and Mizuu on my GS7 don't work at all... what am I missing? Thanks in advance

If I remember how it goes, DTS-HD is not currently licensed for any form of media other than Blu-Ray ... so ... they only license it for use on devices with Blu-Ray players.

On a related side note, the GS7 is capable of transcoding DTS, DTS-HD Master & Dolby TrueHD to Multi-channels PCM for passthrough (audio signal) via its HDMI-in port.
(didn’t test Dolby Digital Plus passthrough via HDMI-in ).

Have a look at this post.

Interesting, I will have to check that out. Does it output 5.1 and 7.1 PCM? That won't help the OP here and I can't think of any TV set top boxes that support DTS to connect to the HDMI input but if there are some and there is ever any DTS programming, that would be a useful feature.

While you at it (& get a chance) try to test “Dolby Digital Plus” passthrough – connect Roku to GS7 (via HDMI-in) and run this test (vudu) …. It may help this poster. :)
