Just a quick question for anyone with the Honeycomb update. Is there an option now to change the DNS settings directly on the device? The previous android 2.x based software had no means to do this on the device directly, as far as I could tell.

I want to be able to set the DNS explicitly on the device itself, not on my router - which would make the change for all computers on my network.

    Thanks for any help!

    Thanks for the feedback.

So, different DNS options for Ethernet vs. WiFi... that's kind of odd. Oh well, I'm glad I spent the time to run some Cat5E directly to my Revue then. Hopefully the same option is also available for the Revue, when the update finally rolls out.

    Thanks!

It is available in the user debug and on the Sonys so it should be available to the Revue once it gets updated

DNS can be set whether wired or wireless however you will need to use a Static IP to do this when connecting.

Odd. I was only able to find DNS customization for Static IP. However, only able to find static IP option in the Ethernet control panel. Where exactly did you find it for the wireless connection?

Select Network>Wi-fi then select the network you are connected to and select "Forget".

Now reselect it and this time select "Static" instead of "DHCP" then scroll down in the window and you can find the DNS entries.

Thanks! Though, I just learned that it isn't necessary to forget the network. It is weird, I must be going senile. My SSID isn't broadcasting, so I have to manually create a connection and the only options are SSID name, security, and password. Even checked the option for the connection status at the top but somehow, I over looked DHCP/Static IP at the bottom of the pre-existing list.

Thank you again for pointing that out to me.
