I plan to watch this, maybe afterwards I will understand why this is more important than other services and features Google TV needs. I guess in fairness, the most important things are probably out of Google's control and this might be an attractive new feature and it is attainable.

Neat stuff! Users should wait for voice search hardware built into the remote especially if they don't have a smartphone/tablet. Again these dev's are stumped by the fact that users are going to want to be able to speak and have DVR recorded content come up. Hopefully they start looking into a solution to this issue as it would be a really cool feature to see on GTV. It may be that a GTV/DVR device would be the coolest thing to see at some point?

After sleeping on it I figure GTV could easily add voice search to our DVR recordings. All the remote functions are already there on the remote. For now it would be a nice 1st step to be able to say DVR or Recordings and have GTV bring up a list of DVR recordings. The rest of the search could be done with your remote.

Now those users who have the Dish's Hopper for example would have a pretty sweet setup GTV/Hopper combo. Now if after speaking to initialize the DVR Recordings they could also initiate a macro that enlists the D-Pad to become the page up/down,left and right on the Hopper with the OK button being the select button we would now realize the future of TV with a GTV/Hopper combo in the livings room. Once GTV is brought back up the D-Pad would then be set to revert back to it's original function. Perhaps some other buttons could change the categories etc.

Here it is for those who want a demo:

Also, dish users who already have opted in to the GTV integration with a Dish DVR might want to chime in. I think for $4 per month DVR recordings actually will show up within the GTV PrimeTime App? I wounder if there is a way to search only your DVR recordings and if they show up via movie sheets on PrimeTime? It would be nice to see a Dish/GTV Primetime Demo on You Tube.

The presenters in the vid were stumped by a question about DVR integration with voice search. Here is a vid of Dish/PrimeTime integration back when it was still the TV and Movies App:

So a voice command "PrimeTime DVR Recordings" would be sweet in this instance!!!

Once this is implimented I see all kinds of cable providers lined up for GTV integration or risk being left behind in the dust. Who will be the first cable company outside the USA to follow Dish's lead?

I am not really with this voice search of DVR recordings as being something useful. I have set up my DVR to record what I want, plus it knows the kind of programs I like and it records suggestions based on that knowledge. I can't imagine I want to tell my Google TV to find my DVR recordings, I already know where they are and I know what they are except for the suggestions and those are all in the same folder. I also know where my socks are, in my socks drawer, but maybe some day I can wake up and say "robot, find socks" and the robot will find them after looking in the coffee pot, bread basket and ceiling fan.

Lol, if ya don't get it ya don't get it! I'm sure others' will like this feature and for the record get me a robot to do housework and laundry and I'm good!

It shouldn't be that hard to implement this. I want to speak "DVR Recordings" and have GTV bring up my DVR recordings on any Device I choose to use. And it shouldn't be that hard for the D-Pad to switch over to control that device either while it is in operation. This would put the smart and cool right into GTV as a promising and evolving Smart TV. After all, who doesn't want the GTV remote to be universal and do it all?

So all the above currently works with my DVR except the Voice command to initiate it! So to recap, we have replaced the Live TV Button with speaking "CNN,NBC etc", we have replaced the Guide Button with voice search as well. So the next small step is to replace the DVR button with "Play DVR Recording Big Bang Theory" for Dish customers. While the rest of us could settle for "DVR Recordings" for now and perhaps cable companies would take the next step and follow Dish and fully integtate with GTV and charge customers a small monthy fee?

So where do I eventually see this going? How about a GTV initiated DVR playlist? Imagine speaking "Cue up DVR recordings, Big Bang Theory, Dexter, Weeds and Spartacus". So now you have a real lean back experience as you just set up an entire evening of TV viewing that will now auto play for you.

Or in my wifes case, how about "Sex and the City DVR Marathon" which initiates our DVR to record all the old episodes of Sex and the City which then could be played by speaking a few weeks later. "Play DVR Sex and the City Marathon". Now all she needs to do is invite a girlfriend over and crack open a bottle of wine.
