"Google's groundbreaking Fiber service went live last week and it already began to change the lives of residents of Kansas City. For instance, a couple bought a family home in one of the Fiberhoods (area where Google deploys the Fiber service) and turned it into a startup incubator of sorts, where budding entrepreneurs can establish their "offices" to take advantage of the crazy fast 1Gbps internet access.

But Google Fiber provides more than internet access at blazing speeds. For $120, customers get 1Gbps broadband and a TV service with close to 100 channels. The cherry on the top is the Nexus 7 tablet that Google is throwing in, which users can employ as a remote control for the TV service.

Up until now, Google's TV service was a bit of a mystery, but a new video (well, a collection of stills) sheds some light on Google's take on a smart TV service. As you can see, the service will bring all the content sources (broadcast, cable, and internet services like Netflix) together, offering a unitary, streamlined way to access content."

Two Analysts Just Went To Kansas City To Check Out Google Fiber-And They Were Blown Away

"Two analysts from BTIG Research went to Kansas City to see what Google's new cable-company killer, Google Fiber, is like.
    What's it like?

    It's awesome.

The Time Warner Cable system in Kansas City appears to be freaking out about the rollout of Google Fiber, and for obvious reasons. Google Fiber puts the Time Warner Cable offering to shame."
