    Google's video platform Google TV has plans to come to Brazil soon, according to the company's vice president responsible for worldwide product development. In an interview with Brazilian portal Teletime, Mario Queiroz declined to specify when the launch will occur, saying it depends on the strategy of the equipment manufacturers, who would need to install the software in their TVs, BluRay players and set-top boxes.

    There are local rumours that the launch will be in the second half of this year. Queiroz said that the Google TV software platform will be used in some of the TV sets to be manufactured in Brazil, and as it is based on Android, some of those sets could potentially run applications"
