If you're wondering what the upcoming Google TV 2.0 (Android 3.1) Honeycomb update will look like in action, here's your chance to see it! We were having a conversation about Google TV on Google + and all the ins and outs of it, and Chris H was kind enough to make a 13 minute video of his installation of the "leaked" version of Honeycomb on his TV.

Great overall runthrough of the new GTV Chris!

Since Chris is running the new GTV through the ReVue, I don't know if it will have the option or not, but a big thing for gamers or people with a surround sound system is the signal lag on the Sony GTV. I'm wondering if you could find in the settings an option to turn on a game mode, disable advanced processing, or something of the sort.

Steven, I don't know if Chris is on this forum, you might want to try asking him in the G+ thread in the link.

If the app store is nothing more then apps one read on the TV then Google TV will fail. The reason to have Google TV is to stream video content from the internet not read things that is phones and tablets are for.

^ That's cool. Skins would be nice.

I mean, what more could we want? We have a full browser. The market means a lot. If we don't like some things, we can just make a app. Dont like the home launcher? Make another one. Actually that's a fantastic idea.

Are these vids pushing anyone to install honeycomb? I'd rather wait but knowing the history of pushed releases I have little confidence that it'll be released in early Nov. If that date is missed I think I will be installing myself after that.

No interest in the leaked version. I have more programs in my queue than I can watch in the next several months already and I use Google TV to stream video from the internet and web browsing, nothing else. If 3.1 opens up more internet streaming options, great but I can wait for the release intended for official release.

i will wait, im quie pleased with my Revue as it stands.. it adds a neat interweb facet to the whole TV viewing thing.. it will be a lot better once HC makes the push but the brick factor and not being able to recover from the leak version is just too great a risk.. it may be another week or a month more but i would rather just let google handle it...

The leak is less stable than the release version of GTV, so I wouldn't personally want to use the leaked versions. Also, you don't know if you can get the release HC from the leaked version.
