A few years ago , your smart phone was running a proprietary OS, your TV was nothing more than a crap box to recieve local channels and only your computer came with your choice of software. There was no common thread connecting these three worlds. But the situation has altogether changed with the arrival of Android.

Android has united these platforms as it is based on the Linux kernel. After bringing the Linux kernel to smartphones it has now targeted the idiot box and television is all set to remove that tag.

Imagine a TV that runs a smart Linux based OS so that we can do all things we could on our smart phone. No more waiting, it is here!

Now we are not talking about the already announced Google TV. Yeah, it basically does the same thing. But no, we are now the kind of dudes who wish to wait for the release date or an invitation from Google. The Geniatech Android TV would do the same business for us!

In layman words, the Geniatech device is a set topbox which can be connected to your HD TV to get all those offered in store with Android. Think about the feeling of playing angry birds on your telly. (Drooling!!)

Now on to the real specs:

This Android box packs a powerful 1GHz Cortex A9 CPU, 512 MB RAM and storage upto 32 GB. On the software side, it has Android 2.2(Froyo) with Android Market support. That means you can install a lot of applications to utilize the potential of the device. The company hasn't announced any dates for the launch or in which countries it will be available. All that we can do for now is impatiently wait for it and hope that it will come sooner than Google TV.

What do you think about the Geniatech Android TV? Do you simply ignore it because of the infamous chinese manufacturer and wait for the Google TV? Or do you go for GeniaTech? Let us know!

Now onto the android based refridgerator and dishwasher. ;-)

This is not an actual TV with android 2.2 built right into the tv - but rather a set-top box (with android 2.2 OS) that connects to your TV.

That UI looks bad.........really bad, I would say the apps will look just as bad. The device is running a Smart phone OS built for a 4" platform not a 12' platform like Google TV or Honeycomb. Just go for a real Google TV, unless you want a giant pain in the a**.
