Prior to the update of GoogleTV 2.0, I never had an issue playing a video on Facebook. Post update, the videos on Facebook will not play and I receive the following error message:

Flash Player Update Required with a link for me to get the latest Flash Player.

When I click on the link, it takes me to the Adobe website which gives me a message that I already have the latest Flash Player installed. What gives???

I have tried zooming three times with no success. What can I do to get the videos on Facebook to play again? I am about ready to resort to resetting to Factory Settings.

The zooming three times was only for the javascript quirk in their code that prevented the page from rendering properly. That has nothing to do with the Flash. Facebook has been making some pretty disruptive updates to their service as of late. Give me a link or instructions on how to duplicate your problem and I'll see if I can find out the what's going on.

I would recommend reporting the problem to Facebook.

There is also a thread about this on the Logitech Revue forum. Apparently Facebook videos no longer work with the Revue either. The Revue is on Flash 10.1 while the updated Sony GTV products have Flash 10.2 Hmmm

I'm new here, so I don't have enough posts to add a link, but basically, you can replicate my problem by:

On Facebook, search for Coastal.com (I am using a public page, so you can access it and the problem I'm having effects all videos on Facebook)
"Like" the page
Go to their videos
Click the video Halloween Contact Lenses
This is when I get the message:
Flash Player upgrade required
You must download and install the latest version of the Adobe Flash Player to view this content
(Link "Get Flash Player" included)
I click on the link and I get the message:
Your Google Chrome browser already includes Adobe Flash Player built in. Google Chrome will automactically update when new versions of Flash Player are available.

And that pretty much puts a stop on my Facebook videos watching days.

Any help would be great appreciated!

Are you on the Logitech Revue or a Sony GTV device?

I tried to duplicate your symptoms but cannot find the appropriate page. The two Facebook pages that I wound were close were "costa.com" and "costal.com.br". Neither of them had videos associated with them after I pressed "Like". Can you give us an actual URL link to the Facebook page?

Also, if you're having odd issues like these, then you may want to check the User Agent setting of Chrome. If it is not set to "Default" then you can experience peculiar symptoms like these. While in Chrome, press GTV Menu > Settings > Advance Settings > Under the Hood > User Agent > Default and try it again.

I checked my settings are they are on default. So, here's the link

If the link doesn't work, you can also search for it.

While in Google Chrome, search for Coastal Contacts Facebook

Click on the search result "Coastal.com|Facebook"

Go to videos

Click on Halloween Contact Lenses or the video of the weird looking eyes.

This is where I get the Flash Player Upgrade required message.

I can't get rid of the link being embedded as a video on the post. So here is the link broken down into sections:

http://www.
facebook.com/
video/video.php?v=134699419421

It looks like Facebook is requiring Flash version 10.3.181.34 or higher to watch their videos. That's why its requesting that you upgrade from 10.2 version on Google TV. Unfortunately, you cannot upgrade because Flash is embedded into the operating system. Therefore it can only be upgraded with an operating system update.

What a bummer...thanks for the help! Do you happen to know when GTV will roll out an operating system update that will update Flash?

Nope. And with Adobe's announcement to drop Flash for certain platforms, it is not very hopeful that one will come. However, you never know what Google can pulls out in the future.
