I haven't tried sideloading Firefox - but what I've found in general is that alternative browsers will not play Flash on GTV. It has to do with how the Chrome browser and Flash are baked into the GTV operating system.

Some of the mobile browsers such as Maxthon can play videos from mobile versions of web sites (with GTV) - if the videos are encoded with a common mobile video codec. But I couldn't play YouTube videos with Maxthon.

In the What's New Section it lists - Flash Support! -but if it doesn't work on tablets or other devices there may soon be a fix!

Will someone be willing to test this out with a side load?

The Flash will only work on tablets and phones. This is because tablets & phones don't have Flash built into their operating system in the manner that GTV does. GTV is a different beast altogether......
