I am about to purchase the blue ray set top box but wanted to make sure I understand the details on the external hard drive.

Logitec will recongnize NTSF but the Sony will only recognize FAT or FAT 32.

To use my 2 TB WD Elements (NTSF) I would need to reformat it to FAT 32?

    Thanks !

Correct. That's because Logitech supplies the ntfs-3g driver with their Revue as part of the value add to Google TV where as Sony does not.

And formatting the 2 TB will not be problem as long as I use a 3rd party software that can handle this, MSFT will usually not be able to do this large a volume?

The program I use is Fat32Formatter which is a quick simple utility to rapidly format and partition your drives with FAT32.

Virustotal ideintified 1/42 as having a virus. False positive I assume?

Just 1 out of 42 program that it ran through (ByteHero) found a virus, the other 41 did not.

Anyhow, being super carefull as I caught a nasty virus a few weeks ago.

Very understandable. It is always better to be cautious than impetuous. Although, I still don't know which one of the fourty-two programs ByteHero ran through and flagged as infected. So, I don't if it is appropriate for me to reassure you it is safe to ignore the warning.

If you downloaded the program from the link I provided above, I can tell you it is a single program with a self-sufficient executable which does not need to be installed and can even run from within the zip archive. It also doesn't trigger any alerts from Avast on my computer.

Virustotal.com runs it through 42 different virus programs - ByteHero is apparantly one of the 42. Anyhow, good site if you ever want to test a file.

Very interesting. Here are my results using that webpage.

    Then View Downloaded File Analysis
Let's figure out why ByteHero flags it as Malware. But first....
    You gotta love the irony.
