I just bought a new TV, LG 47LK520, which I connected to the Sony Google TV BR player through HDMI. When using the headphone output of the LG TV, I hear a mild sound distortion when playing media (even Pandora) from the Blue Ray player. At times there are clicks and pops when changing chapters in Blueray discs, other times it is just background noise, distortion in voice and music. I tried playing the same content from a USB stick connected directly to the TV and to the BR player, and the distortion only occurs when using the BR player. I tried playing with all the sound settings offered by the Sony Google TV player, but the problem is always there.

Has anybody experienced this? If so, is there any work around?

Never heard of it. Can you try the brd on a different tv or optical out on same tv? Might be a bad hdmi cable.

Thanks for your reply. After multiple tests I found out that the TV was introducing the distortion. I replaced the TV and solved the problem.
