Discussion in 'Google TV Hardware Discussion' started by chopper, Sep 19, 2012.

?

Would you switch to Dish Network if they integrated GTV into their DVR/STB?

Would you switch providers if Dish ever decided to make the leap? Your chance to vote is above this thread!

This would most likely mean DVR recorded content would be searchable/playable for Apps like the TV and Movies App with Movie Sheets! Users could probably que up an entire evening of shows via playlists.

It already is like that. Because I pay $4 a month for that integration. When I record a movie or show it shows up in the respective category in TV & Movies app. If I recorded Resident Evil an I search for it, it will show up as watch now and a DVR listing will be on there as well as amazon and YouTube.

Of course recording a movie or show is easy. I search for the title and hit record.

Unless you are wanting more? I don't see how we could get better integration then that. Dish network plus Sony nsz-gt1 is great.

I had hoped somebody here was using Dish with Google TV in this manner, good to see it works well. I know Chopper's suggestion is for an all-in-one box but separate boxes working together like you have is probably just as good, maybe better.

Polardude, can you make a video of this in action on You Tube and post a link here? Thanks for the heads up!

So that's what I was missing. All in one device. It would be nice. But it's also nice to have separate devices. For when I have to move and possibly choose another cable provider.

Chopper: Sure I could make a video.
