Dish Network Will Offer Free Sling Adapters to Existing Customers

Well not exactly free, but you'll get a rebate in the form of an American Express gift card for the amount you paid.

New customers get all the perks. When you first sign up for cable or satellite services, the companies throw everything they have at getting you in, but after the first six months the relationship stales. You're not new and exciting anymore and they start to charge more and take away some of the cool freebies.

Dish subscribers have some good news coming their way. The company has decided - according to Satellite Guys[/URL] - to extend an offer of free Sling Adapters to current customers instead of just the ones new to the service.

Technically, the adapters aren't free - at least not initially. You'll have to pay $99 up front, but you'll get a $99 rebate in the form of an American Express Gift Card. You get your money back, but you'll have to wait a bit.

Dish Network to extend free Sling Adapter (after rebate) offer to existing customers

Dish Networks recently revealed a promotion involving free Sling Adapters for new customers, but now Scott Greczkowski of SatelliteGuys.us reports they will also be available to existing customers after May 18th. The Sling Adapter will cost $99 up front, with a rebate for the same amount coming back as an AmEx gift card. That's a nice treat for all those still looking to add some Sling capabilities to their 722 DVRs, and apparently it's a response to customer feedback. Check the forum for all the details, but we're pretty sure "free" (even after rebate) is really all the detail necessary.
