Since DirecTV 3D viewing is disabled if the NSZ-GT1 is in the HDMI path, I wonder if using a HDMI splitter would work. I am thinking about setting it up like this:

DirecTV ---> 3D ready HDMI splitter ----> Google TV ----> Receiver ---> TV
DirecTV ---> 3D ready HDMI splitter --- Receiver ---> TV

I know that as long as the NSZ-GT1 is powered on it will not work because the "lowest common denominator". Would it work if I power it off when watching 3D program using the lower path?

I am happy to report that this setup works. I am using a inexpensive $24 HDMI splitter from Monoprice (sorry I am not allowed to post the link).

I do not have to turn off my Sony Google TV when I watch DirecTV 3D program using the lower path shown above. The only thing I need to do is to make sure that I switch to a non-3D channel when I am done before switching back to Google TV (upper path). Otherwise I will see no picture until I turn off and on the Google TV.
