What if GTV was baked into a tablet instead of a GTV set top box? Could the DNLA feature shoot video to a GTV set top box?

Will these features and Apps become available on the new Sony GTV?

Why is GTV not advertised like this?

Hmm, the above examples offer some insight into where I thought GTV should have been by now!!! It looks like this just works well with no hoops to jump through. I wounder if Hulu works on this device as well?

So should someone with multiple TV's buy several GTV set top boxes or one of these?

My Sony GTV has dlna capabilities. I can stream music or videos from my phone with no issues. As long as I'm using wifi I can just open up my dlna/upnp app and stream anything on my phone pretty much seamlessly to my GTV. Never needed to mess with settings on my TV, it just starts playing automatically.

I'm not sure you understand what's happening in the videos. The tablet is acting as a dlna server. It can stream music/videos to any device on the same network using dlna as long as that device can support receiving the dlna stream. This won't work with just any TV.

I had read that the new Sony GTV box doesn't support DLNA?

You're probably right. I assumed that if the first gen Sony GTVs supported it then the second gen ones would.

I don't understand what Sony is doing with DLNA on the NSZ-GS7. I know Plex has DLNA support and the Plex client software is preinstalled on the NSZ-GS7, maybe that is the extent of the new Sony media server relationship, at least up to this point. It would be interesting to see what Sony plans regarding DLNA certification for the new Google TV boxes.
