    Hi people...

I need some help regarding the external audio device connected to Sony google tv.
I got my new sony nsx-40gt1. As the volume output is not good I got a vizio speaker bar and connected it using Optical Toslink Cable.
Now the problem is I have to control the volume with the remote provided for the external device.
When I control the volume using the TV remote, I see a message "Audio system is not registered".
Can somebody please tell me how to setup the device to control it from TV remote. Is there any possibility to register the audio device with TV.

    Thanks
    Suresh.

That is indicative of toggling the AMP button on the NSG-MR1 remote while not having an AV Receiver configured.

Go to GTV Settings > TV & AV Receiver > AV Receiver to setup your sound bar.

    Thanks for the reply eferz.
I tried the instructions you provided and I dont see any settings for configuring external speakers in my google TV. ie., GTV Settings -> AV Receiver.
I see only IR Blaster settings there... :-( But I connected the speaker bar using a cable...
VIZIO VSB200 Universal HD Sound Bar is the speaker bar I have connected to my

    Thanks
    Suresh.

Sorry, I have you given you instructions for the 2.1 version but yes, you would be controlling the sound bar via IR. GTV Settings > AV Receiver > enable Control with IR Blaster > Manufacturer > Vizio > IR Blaster test. Make sure that you are using one of the leads from the included IR Blaster cable to point at the IR sensor of the Vizio Sound Bar. The Sony Internet TV will relay the controls of the Vizio Sound Bar through the IR Blaster.

On the slight chance that the Vizio Sound Bar is HDMI-CEC capable, you can go into GTV Settings > Video Input > HDMI Settings > Device list > Enable and this will show all HDMI compatible devices that is compatible using this method.

Well, since Google TV doesn't actually have Bluetooth radio let alone the Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP), you're going to have to use the "AUX IN: 3.5mm line-in jack" of the Soundfreaq. At least the output jack of televisions with Google TV deploy a variable line output, so you won't have to worry about not being able to control audio with the NSG-MR1 remote. You can use the native volume buttons to the audio output levels.
